What this is
A voluntary gift to Jonathan Maye, who operates mayetech, to support the software and design work published under the mayetech name. It is not a purchase. Nothing is delivered in return, and nothing on mayetech sites is locked behind it.
Not a charity
mayetech is not a charity or a nonprofit. Gifts are not tax deductible.
Monthly support
A monthly gift renews on the same day each month until it is cancelled. A donor can cancel any time using the manage link on the support page or in the Stripe receipt, or by writing to mayetech. Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund past ones.
Refunds
Gifts are not refundable by default. A donor who was charged by mistake, or for the wrong amount, can write to mayetech and the matter will be looked into.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card or bank details go to Stripe and never reach mayetech. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to what is given to it.
Notes
A donor may leave an optional note with a gift. It is stored with the payment in Stripe and read by Jonathan Maye. Notes should not contain personal information.
What mayetech keeps
Stripe shows mayetech the donor’s name, email address, any note and the gift details in its dashboard. These are used to look after the donor’s support, to reply, and for mayetech’s own records. They are not sold or shared, and no marketing is sent.
